25th August

THORESBY COLLIERY (2) 154 all out                 (Daniel Nash 39, Richard Robinson 6 for 29)

NORTH WHEATLEY (20) 155 for 4                      (Dave Waller 41, Wayne Harrison 45, Richard Robinson 45 n.o.)

I did not think we could play much worse than Saturday, but I was proved wrong. Although some excuses can be made of the previous days efforts and large quantities of alcohol consumed in celebration.

Chesh was back to normal losing the toss but we were relieved when we were put in. Chesh fell early to a tired looking shot, Paul and Dnash looked to be in control as they took the score to 62, but they both fell in quick succession. Little Ben hung around with Nige before getting out caught behind. Say and Nige then added 40 which was the only other partnership of note. Say was bowled and Ian fell the same way next ball. Ben fell to the best catch of the day and Callum was unlucky to be given out lbw when he had hit the ball. Nige was last man out to complete a poor batting display.

Ben bowled with great fire going nearly all the way through the innings with his only reward being a single wicket. Dnash , Billy and Shailesh took a wicket each. The only thing the small crowd were asking was why was Nige not bowled!!!!

Very disappointing defeat but I am sure we would all have taken this outcome to the weekend beforehand. We must now try and raise our league performances before the Final.
