David Evans Dave is the club’s oldest Bachelor and best drinker. Many have taken him on over the years and failed; just ask Tony Wheeler who tried to keep up with Dave on the club’s recent trip to Nottingham and ended up very ill. Let that be a lesson to anyone else. As club senior pro Mick Case would say "that Evans, he would drink bloody meths". Dave is the proud owner of Mansfield’s only twenty year old show home. Even the outside has to be up to the highest standard and Dave can often be seen on hands and knees clipping the edge of his lawn with scissors.  If visiting Dave just ask about the drainpipe on his garage that is not straight – it’s sure to enrage him! Dave is an off spinner by trade, who can be very erratic or absolutely unplayable. Batting is his hidden talent and there can be few better sights than him wielding "Excalibur" late in a game, regardless of where the ball is. Dines most evenings at his parents’ due to not having got round to buying a cooker…. well it has only been fifteen years!!. [N.Birkett]
