Ian Halfpenny

The club’s current webmeister and master of the one-liner. Ian used to be a dogged opener who would regularly bat through the inning with his bare footed companion Paul Hurt in his Maudes days (often compared to the Lone Ranger and Tonto).

He then went on to forge one of  Mansfield Colliery’s best opening partnerships with the true master of the forward defensive, Stuart Evans; these two once ground out a championship by batting an entire innings for 72.

Now in his second season with the club after the sad demise of MCWCC, Ian has become something of a dasher, bringing out hooks, cuts, pulls and the odd rebuke to obnoxious tw**s from Blidworth. Also specialises in  writing letters to league officials after captain has made an arse of himself!!

[ed’s note - thanks Nige]
